Lola was my first Great Dane, my fearless companion for 7 years. Rehomed from a failed puppy farm (she had 14 pups when she was still essentially a puppy herself), she is sadly no longer with us. She was also the naughtiest dog ever, though Mika is doing his best to channel her spirit.
She wasn’t really fussed for other people, but was always happy to try curling up in my lap, or being an improvised bed for one of the cats. For a “narky git”, she was surprisingly accepting of the “claws-out bed making” cat massage.
I’ve gone for a Warhol-esque feel. Warhol liked to combine vivid colour and halftones for his screenprinted works. I’ve taken the halftone effect one stage further, using lines to achieve an engraved aesthetic.
