Acrylic and Charcoal on canvas, 600×300. A “Technical Work in Progress”. Following the completion of “Tommy Gun Thatcher”, I have completed “Miner Panic”.
I’ve never used charcoal before. It was an enjoyable, but dirty, process. This is one segment of a two piece collection. This is the my “realist” piece, diverging from my tendency towards vivid, upbeat scenes. The sense of visceral horror is intentional, with illumination provided by the high-visibility workwear and the miners lamp.
Although the pigmentation used for the workwear will respond to RGB light, this piecce is intended to be viewed in minimal light with UV.
The complementary piece to this is a “Work in Progress”. Upon completion of the “sister piece”, Miner Panic will recieve a minor update to further encapsulate the fear and panic being felt by the miner. The only hint I will provide: The cause of the panic is on the right 🤔. The sister piece to “Miner Panic” has now been completed. The threat from “the right” is “Tommy Gun Thatcher”.
