Acrylic on Canvas, 185cm X 100cm. Painted version of the original digital piece created to accompany my friend, fellow survivor, and talented writer Chris Egan (@christof4)’s poem for the Manchester Open 2022 exhibition at Home Manchester. Please give Chris a follow, and encourage him to complete his book . The piece explores the burden and …
Acrylic
“One”
Acrylic, UV, Glitter and Spray paint on Canvas. 184cm x 100cm. The birthday piece is now complete. Glasgow Unicorn is one, and grown up. The piece has elements from almost every piece I’ve done, with some of my personal favourites represented more prominently, though two pieces have had a major update/upgrade.
“Leeds Sunset”
Acrylic and UV pigment on Canvas, 150cm x 100cm. Based on a reference photo provided by an incredibly kind friend (Thanks, Saira!).
“Radiance”
Acrylic on Canvas, 175cm x 100cm. Sometimes, going completely abstract produces the most enjoyable results. This was a quick piece, made for fun. I did a smaller test panel to see how the various paints would layer and interact.
“Salford Reflections”
Acrylic on Canvas, 175cm X 100cm. Depicts ‘Ralli Quays’ and it’s reflection on the River Irwell from the Albert Bridge. Technically, the reflection of the footbridge is in Manchester (the boundary between the cities is the middle of the river).
“Haddington Reflections”
Acrylic on Canvas, 2000mm x 800mm. Inspired by a photo by friend of Unicorns, Chris O’Sullivan, Haddington Reflections is the second ‘Massive’ piece by Glasgow Unicorn. Spanning 2 metres wide, and reaching 80cm in height, it is also the most labour intensive piece created by the Unicorn so far. It has been suggested by another …
“Ferdinand Sunset”
Acrylic on Canvas, 2000mm x 800mm. Based on a photo kindly provided by JS, this is the largest Unicorn piece to date at 2 metres wide and 80cm tall. It’s so large, I don’t have a photo showing the entire completed piece. The original photo depicts the sunset over Ferdinand, Indiana on Christmas Eve 2019. …
“Currently A Mystery Landscape”
Acrylic on Canvas, 2000x400mm. Exactly two people know where this is, and one of them isn’t on Facebook. Obviously this is “abstract” – so… Would it be fun or mean to launch a “GeoGuessr” type competition? There’s even a perfect spot on Street View with the same view .
“Punky Peace”
Acrylic on canvas, 400×500. This is a mixture of a few techniques. Mostly made up on the spot! It produced quite a pleasant outcome.
“Capturing Fire”
Acrylic on canvas, 200×300. I was trying to create a flowing fire look with this, like burning lava flowing down the side of a volcano.
